One hundred years after the start of the First World War, we look back through history via music to remember those who have fallen to ensure our freedom. Music by Butterworth and Granados, two talented composers who died in the First World War, begin each half. Fauré’s Requiem and Ravel’s Le Tombeau de Couperin provide fitting music to pay our respects during the rest of the concert.
